Alice Bulch

The stain of time is imprinted, bleached and preserved as I capture traces and record the passing of time through video, photography and sculpture. These processes transform history into space, urging the viewer to examine their own traces. Forms and marks are seen as proof of existence, evoking a sense of presence and belonging, whilst questioning the longevity of what is left behind. My exploration into the language of presence, absence and duration has been informed by living and working in a hotel, confronted daily by the fleeting and anonymous in constant flux.
