The MFA at Newcastle University is a two-year studio-based programme in Fine Art and is designed to enable students to develop careers as professional artists.
Kathryn Brame
Kathryn’s practice focuses on memory, absence and collecting snapshots of the everyday. The space in which the work is shown is integral and by presenting the work within a void or providing a suggestion of what once was, a presence may be formed. The paradox between the vulnerability of the subject and how it can command the surrounding space has become the fulcrum of her practice.
Kathryn Brame is currently in the first year of the Newcastle University MFA course and received a BA(Hons) in Fine Art from Northumbria University in 2007.
