Theresa Poulton
My practice is painting in the expanded field; I have begun to explore different surfaces on which to paint including working site specifically, responding in part to the architecture. This does not mean that I have rejected easel painting altogether, simply that I have begun to question the boundaries of the canvas. I take great care to eliminate evidence of the brush stroke and with the precision of hard edge. I aim to create illusory environments almost digital in appearance. Whilst acknowledging colour theorists I prefer to work intuitively.
