These works begin with the idea of ‘place’; that is to say, a space that is distinguished by it’s character, made up of things which have shape, substance, texture and colour.
There is also a love of basic structure and architecture and it’s processes and materials but also in the physicality and rhythm of buildings.
The significance of one object within a place is dependent on it’s relationship to others and the recognition of something identifiable implies a sense of belonging.
Memories and personal associations inform the connection we have to materials, scale and the presence of things, and therefore, also the way in which we experience a place.
